Antigua

After our first day in beautiful Antigua, we couldn't WAIT to get out again to explore. We woke up early and got ready to hike up to top of the hill that overlooks the city. Afterwards, we visited more churches, had more helado, and went into the market and bought souvenirs. We found the sister missionaries and discovered that one of the members of the church there who used to work with Kyle is now a branch president. It was neat to see the progress of the church in the area. We bought fresh corn tortillas and saw the bus terminal with all the fun buses that travel nearby. We ate at an Italian place called Piccadilly and visited a local grocery store to grab some snacks for our volcano hike the next day. As we were walking back to the place we were staying, we found a vendor that was selling fresh pineapple out of a truck and I simply had to have one! After taking a little nap, we headed back out to see more churches and sights. We visited some old ruins and had dinner and ate some of the best crepes! Right as we took our first bites, it started pouring. We ran back to our place and cut up the BEST pineapple I have EVER had. It was so sweet and juicy. We ate it on the rooftop and watched the lightning storm. We also had one of the cats that stay at our AirB&B not leave our room.
